reviews
“Our stay in this delightful unit was truly memorable, largely attributed to a very warm and accommodating host. Situated in the picturesque neighborhood in Logan Square, we were treated to serene park views and had the convenience of playgrounds, eateries, trendy shops, and efficient public transport all within a 10 min walk. Inside, the space was immaculate and perfectly matched its description. As a family with little ones, what stood out were the thoughtful child-friendly amenities, which significantly lightened our travel load. The kitchen was a dream and the luxurious master bathroom, complete with a dual-head shower and spacious tub, provided much-needed relaxation. Don't miss out on this Chicago treasure!”

“Heather was a wonderful host..very responsive and helpful. Her home is beautiful..comfortable furniture, including beds and linens, a well equipped kitchen, and high end toiletries in each bath. The apartment was quiet..no street noise, which was important to us. The neighborhood is just beautiful too. Close to the blue line that takes you into Chicago or out to O’Hara. This is a great place to stay while visiting Chicago!”
- Debbie from MN (October 2023)
“The NEW STANDARD…Heather’s place is anything but basic! She has gone out of her way to provide a space that has everything at your fingertips, it’s comfortable and pristine! We had everything we needed and more, from a well stocked fridge that greeted us upon arrival to a bathroom that had nothing but some of the best products. We traveled with our 8mo. old baby and we had everything from toys, a sound machine, high chair, crib (Nuna brand), and strollers. The neighborhood scene has amazing restaurants, great parks, everything is walkable, and the people are so friendly. Ohhhh, and the beds are so very comfortable! You will feel right at home, so don’t hesitate to book for your next stay to Chicagoland!.”
- Iliana from Washington, DC (July 2023)
“We have stayed at a lot of Airb&b over the years and I can confidently say Heather’s place was like no other. The upscale nature of the entire stay really set it apart. The amenities were all top shelf including the bedrooms and bedding, coffee maker and coffee provided, French stove and utensils. The extra touches like the welcome baskets in every room were so unexpected. I highly recommend Heathers place for anyone who wants to stay in luxury for a good value. Thanks Heather for making your home available and memorable.”

“Don’t hesitation book this apartment. This recently renovated, beautiful, light filled place is a great respite from all the activity of downtown Chicago. We were visiting family that lived in Logan Square neighborhood so this location was perfect. Honestly - we booked it because of the LaCornue range, and the rest of the spotless apartment did not disappoint. Heather thought of everything from lots of towels to bathrobes, toiletries, beverages and games! The kitchen was stocked commensurate with the range. The master bath is a luxury spa retreat. Lots of restaurants, grocery stores and green spaces are all within a 10 minute or less walk. Heather was super easy to communicate with throughout our stay. She’s a gracious host and the apartment reflects her commitment to a provide a great experience for her guests.”
- Matt from Columbia, SC (June 2023)
“Heather’s place is amazing, even better than pics or description. We stayed over the holidays as a family and had everything we needed plus a few nice surprises to make us feel at home. Kitchen has so many high- end touches, beds are comfy and the place couldn’t be cleaner. All the amenities needed for little ones, plus toys, books, and a stroller for exploring the neighborhood - our 1.5 year old truly felt like she was on vacation! Heather had great tips on the neighborhood too, which has everything you need within walking distance and is accessible to downtown/main tourist sites while allowing a true neighborhood vibe. Heather and her place certainly go above and beyond!”
- Josh, Los Angeles, CA (December 2022)
“The place was the best we have stayed at by far. We originally had not planned to celebrate Thanksgiving there but we did and everything was there, even nice China. Spices, pots, pans, pretty much all you need to make a nice meal. Heather really has thought of everything. Plus the place was beautiful, clean, luxurious and safe. Really wonderful.”

historic Logan sQuare-Palmer square
While beautiful and historic, Logan Square (Palmer Square is part of Logan Square) is also one of the hottest neighborhoods in Chicago. Some even say in the nation. In 2016, Cushman & Wakefield named Logan Square one of the 15 "hottest urban retail markets across North America." Logan Square has also been described as the "Midwest headquarters of hip." Local artists, innovative restaurants and bars, architecture, live music, walkability, and overall beauty make Logan Square a very special place. Chicagoans and tourists alike have made our neighborhood a popular destination spot.
Logan Square is very pedestrian friendly. People in this neighborhood love to walk and bike for recreation, commuting to work, and running their errands. Our unique boulevard, along with wide sidewalks, allow for safe and enjoyable walks. In the European tradition, people stroll around the area with their families and friends. The EL "elevated" train has two Logan Square stops. The closest one to us is the "California" blue line (12 minute walk). A trip to downtown via train or car is typically 20 minutes. United Center is a 15 minute drive. The Armitage bus stop is at the south end of our block. This bus will take you all the way to Lincoln Park and the lakefront. All of the CTA "Chicago Transit Authority" routes and times can easily be found online. You may purchase a Ventra card at the California Blue line stop. You will want to do this before taking the bus or train.
While Logan Square has some of the best restaurants, bars and breweries in Chicago, it is also one of the most beautiful and historic neighborhoods. "Urbs in Horto" translated from Latin means "City in a Garden." In 1837, when Chicago officially incorporated, this became the city's motto. With over 600 parks now in Chicago, the founders would be very pleased. We are fortunate to have Palmer Square Park at the end of our block. The 7-acre park is mostly green space, with a 1 mile walking path, plus a Velveteen Rabbit children's' area. You will find people enjoying many activities such as having picnics, playing instruments, slackling (balancing on a belt tied between trees), doing Tai Chi, yoga or jogging. We frequently also walk down to Logan Boulevard (20 minute walk). On Sunday mornings, during "outdoor season", don't miss the Farmer's Market for a favorite "locals" Logan Square experience.
We are extremely fortunate to be living on a boulevard that is part of Chicago's historic landmark boulevard system. Constructed in 1870, the original plan was for a "ribbon of parks and pleasure drives encircling the city." The boulevard system (listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018), spans 26-miles, and connects 8 parks, 19 boulevards, and 6 squares. Palmer Square is one of those 6 squares!
A neighbor of ours, who grew up on this block, remembers when the head of NBC Music lived in our house with his family in 1925. There was always beautiful music coming out of the home. As admirers of music, we love this story. Another fun fact, Ignaz Schwinn's mansion (of the Schwinn bicycle company) was at the end of our block where the St. Sylvester School is currently located. We are always learning new things about the historic Logan Square area and enjoy sharing our home with guests like yourself!
